折扇正面：凌波翠盖静含芳，素影摇风送晚凉。莫道淤泥身不染，清心自在水云乡。

荷叶像翠绿的伞盖立在水波之上，静静散发着幽香。洁白的花影在晚风中轻轻摇曳，送来一阵阵傍晚的清凉。别说它从淤泥而出却能不沾一点污浊。那只是因其内心澄净高洁，自然就生活在如云水般悠远自在的地方。

折扇背面：莫道淤泥身不染，清心自在水云乡

扇面以传统工笔淡彩，绘就诗中君子之姿：翠叶如盖，脉络分明，层层晕染出荷叶的生机与清润；粉荷初绽，瓣瓣含露，晕染间似有荷香随扇风而来。画中题字 “看取莲花净，应知不染心”，与荷花相映成趣，将“莲之君子” 的清雅自持，凝于这一方扇面之上。轻摇此扇，荷风入怀，墨香盈袖。愿你如这扇中清莲，于尘世间，自有一份清宁风骨。

折扇文化：古称 “折叠扇”“聚头扇”，其形制最早可追溯至魏晋，于宋代传入中原，在明清两代成为文人雅士的 “标配”。古时文人雅士，常于扇面题诗作画，将山水、花鸟、书法凝于方寸之间，或赠友抒怀，或自赏明志，折扇便成了承载东方美学的 “移动画卷”。扇骨多以竹为上，玉竹温润。每一次持扇轻摇，都在如古人 “摇扇纳凉，挥毫寄情” 的生活意趣。

The fan surface, painted in fine traditional gongbi style with light colors, captures the essence of the lotus as a noble spirit: emerald leaves like canopies, veins clearly defined, layered washes bringing forth the vitality and moist clarity of the lotus leaves; pink blossoms just beginning to open, each petal glistening with dew, as if the fragrance of lotus drifts with the fan’s breeze. The inscribed line on the painting—“Look upon the lotus’s purity and know the unstained heart”—echoes the lotus imagery, encapsulating the elegant self-possession of the “gentlemanly lotus” within this small fan surface. Gently waving this fan brings a lotus-scented breeze into your embrace and the fragrance of ink to your sleeves. May you, like the pure lotus on this fan, possess a serene and unbending spirit amid the worldly dust.

About the folding fan:

The folding fan, anciently known as “folded fan” or “gathered-head fan,” traces its origins back to the Wei and Jin dynasties. It entered the Central Plains during the Song Dynasty and became a standard accessory of the literati in the Ming and Qing dynasties. In ancient times, scholars and artists often inscribed poems and painted on the fan surfaces, concentrating landscapes, birds-and-flowers, and calligraphy onto this small space—either as gifts to express feelings or as personal keepsakes to declare aspirations. Thus the folding fan became a “moving painting scroll” carrying Eastern aesthetics. The fan ribs are preferably made of bamboo, with jade-like bamboo being especially warm and smooth. Each time one waves the fan, it recalls the ancient charm of “cooling oneself with a swaying fan while expressing feelings with a brush.“
